Electors can ask for certificate for right to vote for runoff presidential elections in Moldova

Chisinau, 24 October /MOLDPRES/ - The people who on the day of the runoff presidential elections will not be in the settlement where they have their valid residence can ask the electoral bureau of the polling station for a certificate for right to vote. The certificate will allow electors to vote at any other polling station on the territory of Moldova, on the additional electoral list.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, the certificate for right to vote is released by the electoral bureau of the polling station to which the person belongs according to his/her residence valid till 2 November inclusively.
The certificate for right to vote is issued upon the presentation of the identity card, which shows the residence of the voter in the area of the concerned polling station. The certificates issued for the elections from 20 October are not valid for the runoff of the presidential elections, due on 3 November.
The electoral bureau of the polling stations issued about 36,740 certificates for right to vote for the elections held on 20 October.
The candidates who got most votes in the first round of the polls will compete in the runoff of the presidential elections. It is about the candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party, Maia Sandu, who picked up 42.49 per cent of the votes and the candidate of the Party of Socialists of Moldova, Alexandr Stoianoglo, for whom 25.95 per cent voted.
