JCC meeting: Moldova's Delegation reiterates message on ensuring of freedom of movement in security Zone on election day

Chisinau, 24 October /MOLDPRES/ - The subject on ensuring the freedom of movement in the Security Zone on the day of the holding of the runoff of the presidential elections was discussed at a meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) today.
At the meeting, the Joint Military Command reported about the lack of incidents on the period 15-22 October on the segment for which the Peacekeeping Forces are in charge.
In the context of the runoff of the elections for the Moldovan president’s office, due on 3 November, Moldova’s Delegation reiterated the message on ensuring in the Security Zone of the freedom of movement of citizens and electoral civil servants, as well as the not allowing of situations of hindering the good holding of the ballot.
Also, the participants in the meeting said that, in the settlements of the Security Zone where polling stations will be opened, the public order actions would be ensured by the territorial subdivisions of the General Police Inspectorate.
Thirty polling stations were opened for this autumn elections in 21 settlements from the right bank of Dniester and Dubasari district, meant for the citizens with right to vote with residence in the administrative and territorial units from the left bank of Dniester and Bender city.
As many as 16,131 electors voted at the polling stations opened for the citizens from the left bank of Dniester at the elections on 20 October.
