Chisinau, Oct 26 /MOLDPRES/- Head of state Maia Sandu today talked to residents of Fălești district, assuring them that the fight against corruption will be "tougher and firmer, as citizens demand". The President also urged citizens to go to the polls on November 3 and that "the votes should be for Moldovans, not for those who want to buy our country with dirty money".

"I started in the morning in the village of Pârlița, I listened to the people and I assured them that our fight against corruption will be tougher and firmer, as the citizens demand. Fălești people want a respected president who does not remain silent when the country is stolen and who fights for the interests of Moldovans. I have given them my word that the fight against corruption will be firmer and tougher, and now we must unite to save the country from the return of thieves," Maia Sandu said.

The head of state noted that 47 development projects worth over 200 million lei have been implemented in Fălești district in the last period. They involved the construction of 73 km of aqueduct, rehabilitation of Balti - Fălești - Sculeni road, rehabilitation of the access road to the village of Izvoare, investments of 38 million lei in the district hospital in just one year, extension of public lighting in six localities. "All this was possible only because we kept the peace and brought financial aid from European partners. Let's think about what we have to lose and go out to vote on November 3 so as not to allow anyone to sell our country!", Maia Sandu said.

The official also visited the village of Sărata Veche, Fălești. "I continued to talk to people in Sărata Veche about how important it is not to lose what we have and to keep our peace and freedom. Votes should be for Moldovans, not for those who want to buy our country with dirty money. On November 3 we have a choice, then it might be too late. I listen to what people are telling me - that the fight against corruption in the judiciary should have been tougher - that's how we will act after the elections. Now we have to save our country", concluded Maia Sandu.

The run-off elections will be held in Moldova on November 3.
