First electoral debate - presidential candidates Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo meet today at Palace of Republic

Chisinau, Oct 27 /MOLDPRES/- Today the first debate will take place between the two candidates for president of the Republic of Moldova - Maia Sandu, the current head of state, supported by the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and Alexandr Stoianoglo, the candidate of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM). The debate will take place at the Palace of the Republic, starting at 10:00 a.m. and will be broadcast live by TV channel Moldova 1, as well as other media outlets.

The electoral debate can also be watched live on the Facebook page of MOLDPRES Agency.

The electoral debate is the first confrontation between the two candidates aspiring to the office of head of state - Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo. It is taking place without a moderator, according to rules agreed by the electoral staffs of both sides.

In the first round of the presidential elections, PAS candidate Maia Sandu won 42.49% of the votes. The current head of state received 656,852 votes. PSRM candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo received 25.95%, 401,215 votes.

The run-off election will take place on 3 November.
