New raids in southern Moldova in cases of electoral corruption and illegal funding of political parties

Chisinau, Oct 29 /MOLDPRES/- Employees of the National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA) and prosecutors raided this morning in Cimislia and Comrat in two criminal cases, which were initiated on the electoral corruption and illegal financing of political parties.
CNA spokeswoman Angela Starinschi said that the searches target the homes and cars of six people affiliated to a party.
The six people are being documented for bribing voters in the referendum and elections of October 20, compiling lists of interested persons, centralizing information about them and transmitting the personal data to third parties outside the country.
During this morning's raids, cell phones, money and draft documents were seized. The six persons are recognized as suspects.
CNA reiterates that people who offer money to influence the results of an election risk one to five years in prison and a fine of more than 50 thousand lei.
