Chisinau, Oct 29 /MOLDPRES/- A Romanian company specialized in the production and assembly of electronic components will invest in Moldova. Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba made the statement today. He noted that initial estimates show a total planned investment of about 5 million euros over the next four years.
"A new investor is coming to Moldova. It is the Romanian company "EBS Electric Group", specialized in the production and assembly of electronic components for the industrial and residential sectors. Initial estimates show a total planned investment of around €5 million over the next four years, of which a first installment of half a million euros will be allocated in 2025," he said.
In addition, the investment will create 100 well-paid jobs for Moldovan engineers.
In the first stage, a printed circuit board assembly line with a capacity of 14,000 components per hour will be opened. In the coming years, according to the deputy prime minister, production will be expanded to four lines with a capacity of 100,000 components per hour.
"I am glad that these investors have chosen the Republic of Moldova, a future EU member state," Alaiba said.
According to statistics, Romania ranks first among the main investors in the Republic of Moldova, with about 1,600 enterprises with Romanian capital registered and equity investments totaling about 6.74 billion lei.
This summer, another Romanian company announced that it is expanding its activities in Moldova. It is a company active in the collection and neutralization of medical and chemical waste.
