Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/ - The spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, has come up with explanations and denied more fake news spread in the public space on the last period. Daniel Voda referred including to xenophobe messages spread in the online environment, ‘’the sale of lands to foreigners,’’ the lists published with the personal data of those who sold their votes, the results of the constitutional referendum and its recognition.
„The misinformation has made much noise on the last period. In this video clip, we unveil the recent lies spread in the public space by various people whom we everybody know. Time is ripe to clarify the things and move further, better informed,’’ Daniel Voda said.
Referring to the xenophobe messages in the public space, Daniel Voda said that the authorities were promoting the unity and respect for the citizens and ‘’President Sandu, Prime Minister Recean and other officials emphasized the support for a united and strong society, no matter the language we speak.’’
The spokesman for the government also touched upon ‘’the elections and the international monitoring reports ‘’read’’ selectively.’’ ‘’If the author of these lies read the first phrase from OSCE’s report, he would see, in fact, that its reads, black on white, that the elections and the referendum from 20 October were well-managed and the candidates carried out their campaign freely, despite the concerns dealing with the ‘’foreign interference and the purchasing of votes, as well as the misinformation.’’ The main problem of the campaign is, in fact, this sale of votes. The police investigate these cases and imposes fines and most of those involved in the ‘’Shor scheme’’ cooperate with the inquiry,’’ Daniel Voda said.
Another fake story deals with the lists published with the personal data of those who sold their votes. ‘’It is compared with the letters submitted by the government to the pensioners who received assistance on the last period. The truth is that the authenticity of the lists from the ‘’Shor scheme’’ can be confirmed or refuted by law-enforcers who organized public conferences and launched information in the public space. The government reminds that the social measures announced for pensioners are part of the programmes on support of the vulnerable citizens, being implemented with care for people,’’ the spokesman for the government noted.
Daniel Voda also referred to „exorbitant sums announced by some politicians about NGOs’ financing.’’ ‘’The government backs the transparency of the financing and activities of the civil society’s organizations, which play an essential role in the consolidation of the democracy. These statements, made by some electoral contenders, must be accompanied by evidence. Otherwise, they stay ungrounded speculations and mislead the public opinion,’’ Daniel Voda stressed in the video clip.
Another subject tackled regards ‘’the results of the constitutional referendum and its recognition. Or the scarecrow of ceding the sovereignty.’’ In this respect, Daniel Voda said that ‘’the constitutional referendum is an expression of the people’s sovereignty and the European integration is a commitment taken by the citizens and institutions.’’ According to him, the people decided and said ‘’YES’’ at the referendum; the European identity was reconfirmed and the European integration way is irreversible, being a strategic goal which will be defined in the country’s Constitution, with the approval of this text in the Constitution.’’
The spokesman for the government also came up with explanations on the fake news dealing with the sale of lands to foreigners. ‘’Attention: the integration into the European Union does not bring these risks and sale of lands. On the contrary, this means new opportunities and our law clearly bans the sale of lands to foreign companies or citizens,’’ Daniel Voda said.
Another fake news is a about the ground of the Toma Ciorba hospital, which would be planned to be sold. Daniel Voda noted that there was not such an intention. ‘’The government invests in the modernization of the medical infrastructure and the Health Ministry makes sure that the name of the famous physician, Toma Ciorba, will be preserved and the hospital will be conserved in its original shape,’’ the quoted source also said.
Daniel Voda also explained why all these electoral scarecrows and lies appeared. ‘’As they want to win your vote. How should you vote on next Sunday? First of all, do not accept money from anybody for the vote. If somebody gives money or favours, call the police at the 112 number and be informed from reliable sources,’’ Daniel Voda added.
