Chisinau, Oct 31 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova State University (USM) rector Igor Sarov urged citizens to participate in the runoff election on November 3, saying "it is time to take responsibility for our future and not to let others decide our fate".
He said "we are between two worlds, two mentalities, two diametrically opposed realities: a ferocious aggressor, frozen in time, claiming its status as a great imperial power, a country defending its freedom and statehood, a world divided in two, democracy versus barbarism, life versus death."
The USM rector said "the future of the state depends on the reform of the political class, and its reform depends on our direct involvement".
He urged citizens to go out to vote on 3 November and make their voice heard. "Today I make a sincere appeal: get out and vote! It is time to take responsibility for our future and not let others decide our fate. We have a choice, we have a voice and we must make it heard. Your vote counts", he said.
Citizens of the Republic of Moldova are expected to go to the polls this Sunday to elect the country's president in the runoff election.
