Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 40 employees of the Public Services Agency (ASP) have been suspended from office, being suspected of receiving money as reward for the vote given at the elections and referendum from 20 October.
The institution said that today it had received a notification on behalf of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA), which establishes that ‘’there is the suspicion that 40 employees of the institution had connections and received money from Russia through the PSB application.’’
„In the context of the electoral process from our country and the multitude of attempts of corrupting voters which appeared in the public space, the Public Services Agency, in close cooperation with the General Police Inspectorate and the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, initiated more verifications, as a result of which a group of ASP employees was identified, who received sums of money as reward for the vote given at the elections and referendum from 20 October,’’ ASP said today.
In this situation, ASP initiated a workplace investigation and those 40 employees concerned were suspended from office for the period of its carrying out. The decision was taken, ‘’ taking into account the reasonable suspicion of participation in the corrupting of the electoral process, as well as the fact that the concerned persons have access to the data from the state critical registers, managed by ASP.’’
The deeds are verified within a criminal file.
