Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - Three men and two women from Slobozia and Tiraspol have been detained before setting fire, today morning, to the entrance door of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), as well as to more vehicles of high-ranking civil servants from the car park of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP).
According to IGP, the first actions on purpose of destabilization were documented several days ago, when policemen of Inspectorate’s guard unit noticed on the area of the institution, more exactly in the car park, a man who was photographing the personal and official transport units of employees and the leadership. Also the concerned person was noticed doing the same thing nearby the institution, both from the Albisoara Street and from the direction of the Railway Station. Asked what was the goal of his presence on the area of IGP and the need of photographing, the man got confused in his statements and was not able to explain what the reason was.
„His actions were fixed during several days, which created suspicions to the law-enforcement institutions and enhanced the operative monitoring of the state’s institutions. During the monitoring, other people were noticed who were also photographing the vehicles on the area of the Central Electoral Commission and other state’s institutions,’’ IGP noted.
Thus, today at 3 am, investigation officers and masked employees of the Fulger special police brigade managed to counteract an attempt of setting fire to vehicles from IGP’s car park. At the same time, three hours later, nearby CEC, a group of suspect people was noticed, who were just intending to set fire to the CEC’s entrance door. The people were detained and two bottles with special liquid for setting fire, gloves and clothes were found on them.
The whole group was identified; it is made up of three men and a woman of 25, 28, 34, and 42 years, respectively, and a young 18-year-old woman, all born in Slobozia and Tiraspol. Presently, they are heard.
During the hearings, the people said that they had been lured by a man named Vladimir, who stays in Moscow, Russia.
„The task set by this man was to set fire to several vehicles from the car parks of IGP and CEC. The sum of 5,000 dollars was promised for these actions, which was to be transferred by the man from Moscow. All things declared by the group’s members were confirmed by the chats detected in their phones, through which they were communicating with Vladimir and were getting concrete instructions to be fulfilled,’’ IGO also said.
To receive the money, the people were to post in chats proofs with photos showing burning cars of IGP and CEC. The same conversations showed that they had earlier received similar instructions, in order to vandalize the headquarters of the Court of Appeal.
All persons were detained for 72 hours. At the same time, the investigation officers established the identity of the person who plotted these actions.
The investigations continue, in order to establish all people involved, as well as counteract other actions of this kind.
