Friday - last day of campaigning for runoff election

Chisinau, Nov 1 /MOLDPRES/- Friday is the last day of campaigning for the runoff election.

Central Election Commission (CEC) Chairwoman Angelica Caraman said that electoral campaigning is strictly forbidden on the election day and the day before it.

"Today is the last day of the election campaign, when the registered candidates for the office of president can make electoral campaigning. Local public administration and advertising broadcasters are obliged to remove election advertising materials. The ban does not apply to information already placed on the internet. It is also not allowed during this period for candidates in the elections and referendum to be on TV or radio broadcasts," said Caraman.

According to the Contravention Code, the continuation of election campaigning on the mentioned days by the media, electoral contestants and citizens represents an administrative contravention and is punishable by a fine of 2,000 to 3,000 lei for an individual and 5,000 to 7,500 lei for a legal entity.
