About 1,450 voters send envelopes with ballot paper for runoff of presidential elections in Moldova

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - About 1,450 voters have sent on term the envelopes with ballot papers for the runoff of the presidential elections, due on 3 November 2024.
According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), 1,447 out of those 1,809 electors registered for the vote by correspondence shipped on term the envelopes with the ballot paper for the participation in the ballot.
The electoral bureaus of those three polling stations for the vote by correspondence were to receive the envelopes with ballot papers of the voters from Canada, the United States, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland.
According to the information held, 436 envelopes were received by the electoral bureau of the polling station from Ottawa (Canada), 790 envelopes – in Washington (USA) and 221 envelopes with ballot papers – in Stockholm (Sweden).
The electoral bureaus of the polling stations from abroad for the vote by correspondence will count the votes on Sunday, following the closing of the polling stations in the host country.
A number of 1,344 envelopes were received for the 20 October ballot, out of those 1,809 ones, shipped to the voters who asked to vote by correspondence.
At the elections of this autumn, the vote by correspondence is implemented, for the first time ever, in six states: Canada, the United States, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland.
