First votes at presidential elections given 8,500 km far from Moldova: first 11 Moldovan tourists vote in Japan

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The first votes for the presidential elections in Moldova today were given in Tokyo, Japan, 8,500 km far from the country. Eleven Moldovan tourists were the first to come to the polling station placed at the headquarters of Moldova’s Embassy in Tokyo.  

Coming from different professions (business, IT, etc.), but united by love for the country, these people included in the tourist agenda also a visit to the headquarters of Moldova’s Embassy in Japan.  

„Moldova is not a place, it is a people and each vote matters.’’ With this message a woman citizen of Moldova encourages all Moldovans who are in the country and abroad to participate in the ballot.   

Moldova’s citizens today elect their president for the next four years. In this respect, 231 polling stations were opened abroad in 37 countries.
