Moldovan PM says votes for peace, prosperity, vote to decide country's future

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has exercised his right to vote at the runoff of the presidential elections. Upon the exit from the polling station, the official said that he had voted for peace and prosperity. At the same time, the PM noted that ‘’the voting is influenced by an already rigged vote.’’ Recean urged all Moldova’s citizens to mobilize, to participate in the polls and ‘’vote honestly’’, ‘’as our vote will defeat the electoral rigging.’’  

„We are in the moment of attack on behalf of crime rings, which bought a lot of votes. For this, it is quite important that we mobilize, vote, as our vote will defeat the electoral rigging which they perpetuate,’’ the prime minister said.   

The official noted that ‘’it is important that we understand that the voting is influenced by an already rigged vote’’ and in this situation, ‘’the solution for us is to go to vote and give an honest vote for the future of our country.’’ ‘’What is important for us to understand is that the voting is influenced by an already rigged vote, as this fraud was prepared in advance, lasted for months and accordingly, our solution is to go to vote, give an honest vote for the future of our country,’’ the PM said.   

Dorin Recean specified that both the Interior Ministry and other institutions of the state ‘’work intensively for us to be able to prevent this attack against our democracy.’’

The PM also said that ‘’we must encourage each one to go to vote,’’ as ‘’your vote decides the future of Moldova. ‘’Today, we must elect the leader who will lead us towards prosperity, to EU and to a better life here, at home,’’ Dorin Recean said.    

The runoff of the presidential elections is held in Moldova today. According to the Central Electoral Commission, 291,153 electors exercised their right to vote till 10:00, which accounts for 10.58 per cent. A voter turnout of a bit more than 7 per cent was recorded at this time in the first round of the ballot.
