Moldovan parliament speaker says votes for peace, prosperity, European future

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - I have voted for the future of this country, for Moldova’s future, for the future of our families and all Moldovans from the country and from everywhere, for peace, prosperity and European future. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has made statements to this effect, after he exercised his right to vote at the runoff of the presidential elections.     

The speaker urged all citizens to participate in the vote, noting that ‘’the organized crime rings do not calm down.’’    

„Although we have a good mobilization, we see that the organized crime rings do not calm down. This speaks about the fact that huge resources are allocated, which probably exceed our imagination, for which reason the message is quite simple: we should not relax, all of us should mobilize, both those at home and those from abroad. I address those from Cahul Leova, Cantemir, Anenii Noi, Nisporeni, Basarabeasca; all of us should mobilize. I repeat, although the voter turnout is relatively good, this is not reason for us to relax; we should everybody mobilize at the vote,’’ Igor Grosu said.      

The speaker noted that the competent institutions would document all cases of electoral corruption, of transportation and motivation of voters, ‘’either we speak about those on the left bank of Dniester or we speak about cases abroad, especially in the East region. ’’We see that people got to be carried by charter planes there. We do not talk about regular flights, when somebody, out of mere initiative and civic impetus, ruled to move. You saw pictures, we speak about Belarus, in particular, in the direction of Minsk, but Turkey is not an exception too – Istanbul, Ankara. We attentively document all these cases and not only here, in these two locations, but also in other countries,’’ the parliament speaker said.       

Igor Grosu also said that ‘’we must exemplarily go to vote, as our vote is sincere, clean.’’ ‘’We do not come purchased; we come sincerely to vote for the future of our country. This is the big difference, which we make in comparison with these crime rings and those who are behind them,’’ the speaker added.  

Moldova’s citizens today elect the country’s president for the next four years.
