Moldova electoral body says voter turnout stays at 52 per cent; over 275,000 electors vote abroad

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has made public the data concerning the voter turnout till 19:00. Thus, CEC finds out that 1,606,000 electors voted till this hour, which accounts for 52.30 per cent, which is by about four per cent more against the first round of the ballot.
More than 275,000 electors voted abroad – an unprecedented number in Moldova’s electoral experience.
Till 19:00, the voter turnout exceeded 52.30 per cent, with a rate of participation of over 1,606,000 electors registered. For comparison, a rate of participation of 48.7 per cent was recorded till 19:00 on 20 October 2024.
In Moldova, the most active voters were in Donduseni, where a voter turnout of over 50 per cent was recorded till 19:00. The constituency with the lowest turnout is Cantemir, where less than 37 per cent of the electors came to vote.
In the Chisinau city, over 53 per cent of the electors exercised their right to vote. In the Balti city, a voter turnout of about 50 per cent was registered and in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia – over 49 per cent.
A voter turnout of over 24,200 people was recorded in the polling stations from the left bank of Dniester. The highest turnout was registered at the three polling stations from Varnita, Anenii Noi district, where about 2,200, 2,000 and respectively, over 1,900 electors voted.
