Moldovan electoral body unveils preliminary results. Who will be Moldova's president

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - Following the verification of 87.02 per cent of the official reports, Alexandr Stoianoglo leads, getting 51.20 per cent votes. The current president, Maia Sandu, backed by the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) got 48.82 per cent, according to the preliminary results of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
As many as 644,211 electors voted for the Socialists’ candidate, Alexandr Stoianoglo, which accounts for 51.20 per cent of the votes.
A number of 616,260 electors voted for PAS candidate Maia Sandu, who picked up 48.82 per cent of the ballots.
The runoff presidential elections are held in Moldova on 3 November. The current President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, backed by the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and the candidate of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Alexandr Stoianoglo, fight for the office of head of state.
As many as 1,691,989 citizens with right to vote or 54.21 per cent of the electors with right to vote participated in the elections, according to data from 22:30.
