More than half of construction of M3 Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiulesti-Romanian border road completed

Chisinau, Nov 4 /MOLDPRES/- After 14 months of intense activity on the construction site of M3 Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiulești-Romanian border road (bypassing Vulcănești), km 0.000-km 8.580, since the contract was signed in June and the works started in August 2023, the project reached a physical progress of over 50% in early November, according to the State Road Administration (ASD).
According to the ASD, so far, 6.8 km have been asphalted in two layers, including intersections and sectors with additional lane, which is about 80% of the total length of the road.
Work on the following sectors will continue in the spring of 2025 after the completion of the earthworks.
This project is being implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the contract value is around €21.2 million. The works are scheduled for completion in February 2026. Once the works are completed, Vulcănești bypass road will facilitate the connection between Chisinau, the port of Giurgiulesti and the Romanian border, contributing to the modernization and development of the national transport infrastructure.
