Promo-LEX reported about 800 incidents during runoff election

Chisinau, Nov. 4 /MOLDPRES/- Promo-LEX mission found 791 incidents related to the electoral process on the day of the runoff. Most of them concerned violations of the secrecy of the vote, deficiencies in the electoral lists and functioning of the automated election system, and the unjustified presence of unauthorized persons near polling stations, which were recording the flow of voters. The information was presented today by the head of the observation mission, Nicolae Panfil.
At the top of the irregularities were incidents related to the violation of the secrecy of the ballot, photographing the ballot paper, displaying the ballot paper with the votes cast or the faulty location of the booths (229 cases), followed by legal incidents of deficiencies in the functioning of the automated election system (127 cases), deficiencies in the electoral lists (65 cases), interruption of the filming of electoral operations related to the opening of the polling station or ballot counting procedures (51 cases), organized transportation of voters (18 cases), unjustified group voting (17 cases), acts of violence/intimidation of voters or other persons (17 cases).
The observers also documented 41 cases of unauthorized persons being present in the precinct or within 100 meters of the polling station.
Eight other cases concern rumors, attempts or even situations of material or monetary rewards offered to voters within 100 meters of the polling station in order to induce voters to vote.
For election day, Promo-LEX deployed a short-term observer to 614 polling stations, selected on the basis of a sample established by a sociological company. In addition, a static observer was assigned to all 30 polling stations where Transnistrian voters exercised their right to vote. 90 static observers were deployed to polling stations abroad.
In addition to the static observers, Promo-LEX deployed 89 mobile teams to monitor the electoral process in polling stations not included in the sample. The mobile teams monitored the access routes to the polling stations, including those where Transnistrian voters cast their ballots.
