Thirty eight candidates registered for mayor office at new local elections in Moldova

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 38 candidates have been registered in the electoral race for the mayor office in seven settlements, where new local elections will be held on 17 November.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, the local constituency electoral councils considered the files submitted and recorded 38 electoral contenders in the electoral race.
Eleven out of those 38 candidates are women and 27 are men. Ten of the candidates run as independent contenders, while 28 are nominated by political parties.
Thus, the contenders will put up their candidacies for the mayor position in: Antonesti commune, Cantemir district – 4 candidates; Causeni city, Causeni district – 7 candidates; Boscana commune, Criuleni district – 7 candidates; Arionesti village, Donduseni district – 4 candidates; Popestii de Jos village, Drochia district – 3 candidates; Iliciovca commune, Floresti district – 7 candidates; Clocusna village, Ocnita district – 6 candidates.
Fifteen polling stations will be organized for the new local elections due on 17 November.
