Chisinau, Nov 6 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan and French foreign ministers will hold bilateral consultations at least twice a year. The provisions are set out in the new Moldova-France cooperation protocol due to be ratified by the parliament.
Members of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy and European integration approved today the report for the consultative opinion on the conclusion of the document between the Moldovan Foreign Ministry and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The new protocol will replace the one signed in 1993. The document stipulates the holding of consultation rounds of foreign ministers at least twice a year, the creation of bilateral working groups and carrying out joint projects.
The protocol also sees cooperation in areas related to European integration, such as the implementation of reforms and transposing the EU acquis.
Once the Protocol is ratified, it will be possible to organize seminars and visits between research institutions in the international relations. This will contribute to institutional capacity building and further training of diplomats or officials working in the Foreign Ministry.
The Treaty will be concluded for a period of two years, with the possibility of automatic extension.
