Organizer, accomplice for setting fire police vehicle detained in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/ - The organizer and an accomplice at setting fire to a vehicle from the car park of the Police have been detained by law-enforcement bodies. The incident took place on 3 November, this year.    

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), 20 minutes before setting fire to the car, at 3 am, a 38-year-old Armenian citizen fueled his taxi vehicle he was driving at a fuel-supply station from Chisinau and bought six litres of petrol in bottle.  

„Subsequently, he drove his vehicles to the IGP headquarters and used one litre of petrol from the bottle for the fabrication of a Molotov cocktail, thrown into a Dacia Logan vehicle from the Inspectorate’s car park. Afterwards, the group’s members went in an unknown direction,’’ IGP said     

The law-enforcement bodies localized the two perpetrators. Thus, the accomplice was detained in Chisinau on 5 November evening. On the same day, the organizer of the group, with an age of 37 years, whom the accomplice also showed shootings with the setting of fire committed, was detained in Varnita, Anenii Noi district.   Organele de forță i-au localizat pe cei doi. Tot în această zi, a fost reținut la Varnița, Anenii Noi, și organizatorul grupului infracțional cu vârsta de 37 de ani, căruia complicele îi prezentase și filmări cu incendierea comisă.

Subsequently, the organizer was to submit the evidence of the setting fire to the man who ordered the offence, about whom there had been earlier information that he was in Moscow – person born on the left bank of Dniester. The latter was to report this to another person from Russia’s special services.   

„The law-enforcers made searches at the two cars, from which the phones containing the pictures and films showing the setting fire of the police vehicle, as well as of the conversation with details on the committing of the offence were taken. Among the photos taken, the law-enforcers detected pictures with money which would have been received as reward,’’ IGP also said.   

The two persons have criminal records dealing with drugs in the case of the accomplice and conviction in Russia for more offences in the case of the organizer.

The criminal prosecution continues, including with the hearing of the accomplice’s concubine.  

Till the runoff presidential elections, law-enforcers detained five people, placed under arrest, from Slobozia and Tiraspol, before they were to set fire to the headquarters of the Central Electoral Commission. On 5 November, another suspect was detained, member of a crime ring. He was examining areas, in order to intervene at the fit time, to set fire to cars of the Police, Central Electoral Commission, Court of Appeal and headquarters of public institutions.
