Number of passengers served by Chisinau International Airport increases by about 58 per cent in last October

Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/ - The number of passengers served by the Chisinau International Airport increased by 57.9 per cent in last October against the same period of the year before.
Thus, the Airport finished the October months with an overall traffic of 411,424 passengers embarked and disembarked or by 150,833 passengers more against October 2023. According to the Airport’s administration, the forecasts as to this aspect were confirmed at the level of 158.2 per cent.
The biggest increase in the flow of passengers was recorded to the destinations Antalya, London, Sharm el Sheikh, Rome, Tel-Aviv, Istanbul, Milan, Vienna, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Venice, Tbilisi.
At the same time, 32,359 people in last October were carried to new destinations or 7.78 per cent of the overall flow of passengers.
As for the number of movements of airships, there were 3,160 landings and take-offs.
As for the cargo segment, in October 2024, the figures show that transportations of about 277.2 tons took place, up by 21.7 per cent against October last year.
The Chisinau International Airport returned to the state’s management in the spring of 2023.
On the last period, more air companies informed that they would make flights from the Chisinau International Airport and the list of destinations to which Moldovan citizens can travel was completed.
