Moldova to benefit from €25 million loan, €1.2 million grant from AFD

Chisinau, Nov 7 /MOLDPRES/- The Republic of Moldova will benefit from a 25 million euro loan and a 1.2 million euro grant from the French Development Agency (AFD). The money will be used to modernize the energy sector.

The parliamentary commission on economy, budget and finance proposes to the Parliament to ratify the credit facility agreement between our country and AFD.

The maturity of the loan is 15 years, including a grace period of five years. The loan will be repaid semi-annually in 20 equal installments.

The money is earmarked for the implementation of reforms in the energy infrastructure, energy efficiency, renewable energy, consumer and environmental protection.

The budgetary support is also intended for the harmonization of Moldova's legislation with EU legislation.
