Moldovan education ministry says children from Ukraine can be registered to attend kindergartens of Moldova during all year

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - The children refugees from Ukraine can be registered to attend kindergartens of Moldova during the entire year. The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) made statements to this effect today.    

To register the child at the kindergarten, it is necessary to submit a string of documents directly to the education institution. The set includes a letter written by the parent or legal representative of the child; parent’s/legal representative’s identity act (copy); certificate of birth/identity act of the child (copy); health record of the child, issued by the structures of Ukraine or the authorities of Moldova.  

MEC noted that, if one or more acts cannot be submitted, the parents/legal representatives/legal competent people will write a declaration on their own responsibility, thereby committing to submit them later.   

Since the starting of the war in Ukraine, the Education and Research Ministry has undertaken a string of actions meant to support the inclusion in the education of refugees from Ukraine. About 2,100 children refugees from Ukraine were registered in kindergartens, gymnasiums and lyceums of Moldova, according to data from the end of the academic year.
