Socialists' faction from Moldova's parliament boycotts parliament meeting, says to contest results of presidential elections at electoral body

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/ - The faction of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) in the parliament today did not come to the parliament meeting. At a news briefing, the PSRM MPs said that they had submitted a notification to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) on the ‘’infringements in the runoff presidential elections from 3 November.’’
Lawmaker Vlad Batrancea said his formation today would organize a protest rally outside the headquarters of the Central Electoral Commission. ‘’During those three days after the runoff presidential elections, PSRM jurists have analyzed hundreds of materials of our observers, who were present in each polling station, both in Moldova and abroad; analyzed the conclusions of the Promo-Lex organization and the OSCE’s preliminary report on the irregularities committed at the runoff presidential election and submitted a notification to the Central Electoral Commission We contest the result of this ballot; we demand that the Commission provides clear-cut answers on the unlawful acts committed, including the massive use of administrative resources, agitation and propaganda on the silence day and on the election day, voters’ intimidation,’’ Batrancea said.
The MP said PSRM was set to contest the results of the presidential elections at the Constitutional Court.
CEC today holds a meeting, in order to approve the results of the presidential elections from Moldova, as a result of which Maia Sandu got a new mandate of head of state.
