Deputy Prime Minister : Two Russian drones crashed in Moldova today, endangering Moldovan lives, violating airspace

Chisinau, Nov. 10 /MOLDPRES/- Two Russian drones used to mislead Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses have crashed in Moldova today, endangering the lives of Moldovans and violating our airspace, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi said this evening after two devices were spotted on 10 November in Causeni and Riscani districts.
"We strongly condemn these aggressive incursions and reiterate our condemnation of Russia's brutal war against Ukraine. The violation of Moldova's airspace is a serious violation and an unfriendly gesture of the Russian Federation. We have clear information showing the violation of the Republic of Moldova's airspace by drones which are launched by the Russian Federation. These drones are endangering the lives of citizens and we call for an immediate halt to their launchings. The Republic of Moldova is a peaceful country and the Government's priority is to ensure the peace and security of our citizens. The Foreign Ministry demands Russia's respect for the neutrality and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova," he said.
The National Police announced this evening that another drone was spotted today on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. This time, in a field near the village of Borosenii Noi, Riscani, after a drone was spotted in the village of Fârlădeni, Causeni district, in the morning. The area was cordoned off, and the specialists of the technical-explosives section undertook the necessary investigations
The drone detected in the locality of Fârlădeni in Causeni was picked up and examined by the experts of the Technical-Criminalistic and Forensic Expertise Center of the General Inspectorate of Police (IGP).
"After the first examinations it was determined that it was a Shahed type drone escort flying device of Russian origin and had no explosives attached. Preliminary indications are that it was part of a wave of drone strikes in Ukraine overnight. There is no risk or danger to the safety of citizens in the region. Investigations at the scene are continuing," police explain.
At the same time, the police appeal to citizens who spot flying or other suspicious devices fallen to the ground - not to approach or touch them, but to immediately notify the police on the emergency number 112.
