Moldovan state announced new competition for projects financed by National Environment Fund with budget of 125 million lei

Chisinau, Nov. 12 /MOLDPRES/- The Environment Ministry and the National Office for Implementation of Environmental Projects (ONIPM) have announced today a new competition for project proposals, financed by the National Environment Fund, with a budget of 125 million lei (6.25 million euros). The competition is aimed at the initiatives of mayors and civil society in the environmental protection, focusing on two main directions: integrated water resources management and integrated waste management.
The water projects will focus on water protection and pollution prevention, supporting activities such as de-pollution of riverbeds and lakes, creation of green protection strips, bank reinforcement and technical expertise of dams.
Proposals may include the liquidation of sanitary landfills, purchase of waste management equipment.
According to the official, important is the commitment to protect forests by drawing up forest management plans, a document that sets out in detail how to manage and sustainably exploit forests, ensuring their proper regeneration and development.
Mayors and civil society representatives can submit project concept notes as of today, November 12, and more information will be available in the guidelines published on the ONIPM website.
