Moldovan president meets Turkish counterpart in Baku

Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu discussed with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Baku today. The discussions were focused on Gagauzia and the Gagauz language, listed by UNESCO as on the way of extinguishing.     

In a message, the head of state informed that the discussion had taken place on the sidelines of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).  

„I discussed with President Erdogan the regional peace and stability, as well as about Gagauzia – a bridge between our states. Together, we are set to preserve the Gagauz language, listed by UNESCO as being on the way of extinguishing and to save the Gagauz culture, an important part of Moldova’s identity,’’ Maia Sandu wrote on the X platform.  

President Maia Sandu today participated in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). As many as 197 countries participate in the event.
