Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ - The restrictions in the involvement in military service under contract will be extended and the arrest will be excluded as disciplinary sanction for military. The cabinet members today approved a draft law for the amendment of normative acts which regulates the way the military service is fulfilled.
The amendments made to the law provide for the assigning to the Defence Ministry of the right to initiate the testing by using the polygraph for the citizens willing to get employed in military structures, as well as for the servicemen under contract.
Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii said that this measure is a practice according to regulations, enforced also in other states and would contribute to the assessment of the person’s integrity and, respectively, to the elimination of the risks of the leaking of information assigned as state secret.
The draft sees also amendments to the Regulation of the military discipline, including the ruling out of the arrest as disciplinary sanction for military, as well as the adjusting of the status of pupils from the education institutions in the military field, such as the recently created Military College at the Alexandr cel Bun Academy. Thus, they will have the same status as the pupils from other post-secondary vocational education institutions.
