Moldova might launch direct flights to destinations from Kuwait

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s citizens will be able to benefit from direct flights to Kuwait. The opportunity will be provided, after today the government ruled to initiate negotiations on the Agreement on the air services between the two countries.    

„Our goal is to attract as many as possible air companies and to give our citizens possibility to travel to as many as possible destinations. The draft is aimed at consolidating the diplomatic, economic relations and favouring the investment climate between Moldova and the State of Kuwait, especially through the establishment, for the first time ever, of the cooperation relations in the air transport field between the two states. The Agreement will allow making direct flights from Chisinau to destinations from the State of Kuwait, which will lead to the opening of the market of air services from Moldova, shortening the time of passengers’ travel, increase in the number of passengers and development of tourism, which will contribute the economic growth of Moldova,’’ the secretary general of the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry, Angela Turcanu, at the cabinet meeting.    

The agreement will establish the principles of regulation of the work of the bilateral air services and namely: security of aviation, tariffs, taxes and certificates of navigability and competence; rights for the carrying out of the sides’ air transport; nomination and authorization of air companies.

At the same time, the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry informed that the Agreement would bring economic benefits to Moldova for the creation of new jobs, quality services for consumers, shorter travel time, as well as the development of the mutual tourism.   

On the last period, more air companies informed that they would make flights from the Chisinau International Airport; thus, the list of destinations to which Moldovan citizens can travel was completed too.
