Moldova-Azerbaijan cooperation in illegal migration sector to be regulated by new document

Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs today ratified an agreement on the combating of illegal migration with Azerbaijan.

The agreement establishes quick procedures of identification and readmission of people who do not meet the conditions for entry, presence or stay on the territory of Moldova and Azerbaijan.

The documents clearly points out the competent authorities, the state border crossing points, ways of readmission and transit, as well as the conditions of transfer and the transport means, the costs, the protection of personal data and other important aspects.

The agreement on readmission between the governments of Moldova and Azerbaijan was signed in Baku on 24 May 2024.

So far, Moldova has signed similar agreements with Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine, Denmark, Macedonia, Norway, the Czech Republic and Italy.
