Moldovan parliament joins afforestation campaign

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, along with MPs and civil servants of the parliament’s secretariat, have joined the Forest Generation national afforestation campaign. Today, they planted oak trees and acorns in the forest district from the Capriana village, central Straseni district, thus contributing to the region’s greening and protection of the environment, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

„It is important that each of us daily contribute to the creation of a sound and green environment in our country,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said.

The afforestation campaign will continue in November-December; the goal is to plant more than 26 million small oak trees, ash trees, acacia and maple trees. In this respect, the parliament speaker urged the citizens to prove mobilization and get involved in the extension of the forest belts all over the country.
