EU experts assisted Moldova in mission on circular economy, waste management

Chisinau, Nov. 18 /MOLDPRES/- Ministry of Environment hosted today the closing meeting of the first stage of the European Union experts' mission on circular economy and waste management systems, part of the EU-funded Twinning Project Air Quality and Environment. The meeting focused on the results, findings and needs of the beneficiary institutions for the correct setting of goals for the next missions on waste management.
The experts discussed with representatives of the National Office for Implementation of Environmental Projects, the Environmental Protection Inspectorate, the Environment Agency, as well as the team of the UNDP project Green Transition in Moldova, in order to further cooperation of international experts jointly with local ones.
In the next stage, with the involvement of Lithuanian legal experts, the national legislation will be analyzed and evaluated in line with the EU legal framework on waste management as well as establishing cooperation with representatives of the ONIPM to analyze several environmental projects, LIFE program and taking over best practices from the Lithuanian Environmental Project Management Agency.
