Romanian diplomacy head says Moldova has real perspective to irreversibly connect to European project

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs Minister of Romania Luminita Odobescu today participated in a working meeting of the heads of the diplomacies from the EU member states with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council.
At the meeting, Luminita Odobescu congratulated Moldova’s authorities on the very good organization of the presidential elections and the constitutional referendum. She expressed satisfaction with the new mandate got by President Maia Sandu. Luminita Odobescu also pointed out the way Moldova’s citizens mobilized, in order to support the European integration option, despite the massive resources mobilized by Russia to influence the elections. She noted that Moldova at present, has ‘’real perspective to irreversibly connect to the European project as the only strategic option which can provide its citizens with security, peace and prosperity.’’
Also, the Romanian diplomacy head emphasized Romania’s determination to continue the active and consistent support of Moldova at all levels of cooperation. The minister also highlighted the boosting of the efforts of the EU and the member states to consolidate Moldova’s resilience and for an efficient action of combating the misinformation and the complex actions in the hybrid spectrum. Luminita Odobescu said that it was equally essential to speed up the European reforms, including through ensuring the institutional stability and resilience of Moldova.
Deputy PM Mihai Popsoi unveiled in detail the security challenges faced by Moldova. He noted the instruments used by Russia in an attempt to change the result of the presidential elections and the constitutional referendum. Popsoi detailed the needs of additional support to counteract them, as well as for the long-term economic development, for the benefit of all citizens of Moldova.
Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi today pays a working visit to Brussels, in order to participate in a meeting of the European Union member states’ foreign affairs ministers, on the sidelines of the Foreign Affairs Council.
