EU calls for immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine, 1,000 days after start of invasion

Chisinau, Nov. 19 /MOLDPRES/- A thousand days after the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova reaffirms the support for Kiev and strongly calls on Moscow to "immediately and unconditionally" withdraw its troops from the neighboring state, the EU Delegation statement reads.
"A thousand days ago, Russia began the large-scale invasion of Ukraine. The consequences are devastating. We admire the determination of Ukrainians defending their country. Ukraine is fighting for freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the protection of fundamental human values and the principles of international law", notes the EU Delegation in Chisinau.
European Union representatives emphasized that Ukraine's security is essential for the security of the whole of Europe and reiterated the commitment to support Ukraine "with everything necessary" to win the war and achieve peace. "Ukraine's security is Europe's security. We will continue to support Ukraine's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. As EU High Representative Josep Borrell has said, we are committed to supporting Ukraine with everything necessary to win the war and to win the peace," the message reads.
November 19 marks one thousand days since Russia invaded Ukraine. The war launched by Moscow is the most brutal in Europe since the World War II.
