Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - The General Police inspectorate (IGP) has informed about the circulation of a message in the public space, according to which certain people who introduce themselves as employees of state’s institutions would go to people’s homes and collect personal data, afterwards robbing them.
IGP noted that no case of this kind had been registered in Moldova and the police was not notified by any citizen who would have been visited by such a person.
„We describe these messages as meant to trigger panic among citizens and ask to avoid the spread of erroneous information. Each time, the police publicly communicate about any dangerous phenomenon for the society, just as it was in the case of the swindle involved in accident, namely in order to calm down and correctly inform the citizens,’’ the institution specified.
In the context, IGP asks the citizens who hold information useful for the police to communicate it to any policeman or the single number 112.
