Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - The campaign titled, Respect for Veterans, launched by the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova (ARBOM) in the Taraclia district, continues to provide financial assistance to those who have been in the country’s service a long period of their lives. Thus, over 100 veterans of the Bulgarian ethnic group, former Interior Ministry (MAI) employees, received 1,000 lei each.
„I am sure that this assistance provided by ARBOM, in cooperation with the Foundation for the Support of Veterans and Pensioners from Moldova, will be useful for them. Especially as they, the veterans, the war ones, those of the power-wielding structures or participants in the Chernobyl accident relief works, deserve every respect of ours, of the young generation, for their dedication in what they did,’’ ARBOM director Alexandr Borimecicov said.
„Everybody needs help. They need medicines, food products or certain things for housewives. That is why, I did not have any restraint when the president of the ARBOM Council, Plamen Milanov, launched the idea to be much more close to the veterans from Taraclia,’’ the president of the aforementioned Foundation, Victor Alergus, said.
„We are grateful to those who think about us, veterans, and take care of us,’’ said Gheorghi Bodarev, participant in the Chernobyl accident relief works.
„We appreciate much the fact that Mr. Plamen Milanov does not forget the socially vulnerable people and provide support to all those in need, including the veterans,’’ a MAI veteran, Fiodor Sabii, said.
Besides the financial support provided, the veterans highlighted also the fact that such events represented a good occasion to meet again the old comrades.
“Such meetings must be organized more often, as they make us more united. For this, we are grateful to the people from ARBOM for initiative and involvement,’’ a MAI veteran, Vladimir Ciumiata, said.
The social project for the support of veterans of the Bulgarian ethnic group was launched by the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova in the last summer.
