Education ministers of Moldova, India have first meeting

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - Education and Research Minister of Moldova Dan Perciun had a meeting with his counterpart from India Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi today. This is the first meeting of the education ministers from the two countries since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Moldova and India. The officials ruled to work on an inter-ministerial agreement which is to serve as framework of cooperation.   

Minister Dan Perciun said that he had discussed with his Indian counterpart the facilitation of the academic and research cooperation between the higher education institutions from the two countries, as well as the mutual recognition of the qualifications. Also, the sides tackled perspectives of the process of internationalization of the education, stressing the importance of the development of sustainable education partnerships.   

„Following the discussions, we agreed to work on an inter-ministerial agreement which is to serve as a framework of cooperation. At the same time, we agreed to develop and consolidate the bilateral collaboration, in order to open new opportunities for students, teachers, researchers, innovators and labour force,’’ Dan Perciun wrote.   

The meeting was the first official meeting between the education ministers from Moldova and India, 32 years following the establishment of the diplomatic relations. Minister Dan Perciun said that this was a significant step in the consolidation of the educational partnership between the two countries.  

Dan Perciun pays a visit to India. The official participated, along with representatives of more universities from Moldova, in the World Education Forum 2024, held in New Delhi, in order to highlight Moldova’s educational bid and attract new international partnerships.
