Chisinau, Nov. 28 /MOLDPRES/- Documenting and resolving contraventions will be digitized. A draft law was passed today in the second reading by 64 lawmakers.
The draft was set up by the Interior Ministry. The authors propose to supplement the Contravention Code with provisions allowing the documentation, examination and settlement of contraventions in electronic form. Simple electronic signature will be used in this context.
According to the authors, the initiative will result in increased operational efficiency, reduced costs and waiting times, and faster processes. The digital recording of signatures and changes to documents will increase the transparency of processes, ensure data security and authenticity, and widen access to public services for all citizens, including those in rural areas or with reduced mobility.
Currently, employees from 44 public authorities and institutions have powers to detect and examine infringements.
The legislative amendments will enter into force three months after their publication in the Official Journal. During this period, the Government will amend its legislation in line with the new legal provisions.
