Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ - More Romanian and German companies interested in the market of Moldova participated in a business forum, Moldova-Romania-Germany, held in Chisinau today. The event brought together business leaders and officials from the three states, promoting the regional economic cooperation.
Companies from key sectors, such as energy, processing of metals, agricultural equipment and technology, took part in the forum.
Attending the event, Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba said that the investments in the economy meant stronger companies, which provide higher salaries. ‘’By investing in Moldova now, you invest in a future EU member! This is not only an opportunity, but also a strategic chance to benefit from the long-term advantages of a market under an accelerated transformation process. We talk about an economic transformation similar to the one through which a half of the European continent has gone in the last 20 years due to the European integration,’’ Dumitru Alaiba said.
The deputy director of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), Nina Potinga, stressed the importance of the strategic partnerships and of the integration of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in global value chains. She also emphasized the opportunities of the Programme on enhancement of the competitiveness to export and internationalization of SMEs, managed by ODA, through which over 300 companies can benefit from grants for the development of their capacities, with the World Bank’s support.
„According to the statistics, the companies which export register higher incomes. For this reason, the authorities actively support the enterprises willing to extend their presence on international markets, giving them access to grants and essential resources for the enhancement of their competitiveness,’’ Nina Potinga also said.
Romania and Germany are ones of the most important investors in Moldova. Presently, 1,600 enterprises with Romanian capital and 426 ones with German capital work in Moldova.
