Parliamentary elections in Romania: policemen to ensure public order at polling stations opened in Moldova

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - Policemen will ensure the public order at the polling stations from Moldova, opened for the parliamentary elections due in Romania. The ballot will be held on 30 November -1 December.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the press officer of the General Police Inspectorate, Oxana Toderita, has said that the law-enforcers would be on duty, in order to provide support as regards the ensuring of public order and guard of the polling stations.
„To ensure a good carrying out of the electoral process, policemen will monitor the escorting of vehicles involved in the carriage of ballot papers, thus protecting their integrity, as well as the one of other electoral documents,’’ Toderita noted.
The Romanian citizens are expected to vote at 59 polling stations, to elect the lawmakers of Romania’s Parliament on the period 30 November – 1 December, during 07:00-21:00.
Seventeen polling stations were opened in north Moldova, 34 polling stations – in the central region, of which 16 in Chisinau and 8 polling stations - in the southern region.
To be able to vote, it is necessary that the citizens hold one of the following documents: identity card, electronic ID, provisional identity card, identity paper, diplomatic passport, electronic diplomatic passport, service passport, electronic service passport, ordinary passport, electronic ordinary passport, temporary ordinary passport and military book for the pupils of military schools.
