Spokesman for Moldovan government says cabinet to provide compensations to all people who need this

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - The people will be protected, including with the increases in prices approved by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), as the government will provide compensations to all those who need this. The spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, made statements to this effect today.  

„On 28 November at the public television station, Dorin Recean clearly said: ‘’Nobody this winter will pay more for gas in invoices than in the previous winter.’’ The people will be protected, including with the increases in prices approved by ANRE, as the government will provide compensations to all those who need this. At 16:00, Minister Alexei Buzu will provide details on the Assistance at Meter governmental programme,’’’’ Daniel Voda said.    

At the public TV station on 28 November, PM Dorin Recean said that the government would provide assistance to the citizens for the payment of the energy in the cold season and would not allow the citizens paying higher invoices than in the previous cold season.  

„We must not allow that Moldova’s citizens pay higher invoices during this season than they did in the past. I know that there is this discussion – natural gas was bought, no natural gas was purchased, that we should have bought it earlier or later,’’ Dorin Recean said.     

At the same time, the prime minister promised that the situation in the energy sector would be clarified at the parliamentary hearings due on 3 December. ‘’At the parliamentary hearings due next week, each institution will report what it did and what it failed to do and there will be clarity,’’ Recean said.  

The PM also gave assurances that the authorities had ruled to allocate more money for the payment of compensations, and for this reason, the rectifications to the State Budget Law for 2024 and the draft law of the State Budget for 2025 had been postponed by one week.
