Problems arise with electronic register of voters in Moldova

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/- Implementation of the electronic register of voters results in problems, and in more polling stations, the data are taken over manually by operators. The head of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Iurie Ciocan, made the statement today.

Ciocan said that presently, all IT specialists contracted by the CEC were working to restore the electronic connection at the polling stations.

He noted that the reason for technical problems was unknown, and they would be removed soon. "Currently, the data are manually taken over and will be inserted in the register later", he said.

Ciocan pointed out that in all polling stations, the voting process was carried out without violations.
