Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ - More European politicians arrived in Chisinau today. They met representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Democratic Party (PDM) and the Liberal Party (PL) and discussed possibilities of creating a ruling coalition in Moldova.

PLDM leader Vlad Filat said the European partners recommended that the Moldovan politicians continue the European integration process. "There was an important discussion. We took an important step in understanding the situation better. We did not talk about the setting up of a minority government, but about creating a coalition between PLDM, PDM and PL", said Filat. The official added that the chances of the formation a coalition between the Liberal Democrats, Democrats and Liberals, increased after talks with European officials.

Democratic Party (PDM) leader Marian Lupu stressed that European politicians had showed interest in what was happening in Moldova and the continuity of European integration policies. "Our European colleagues have not come to ask for something or to coerce us into doing something. They do not interfere with the internal affairs of other countries, but expressed their support in case Moldova’s domestic and foreign policy priorities remain the same. We did not discuss the format of the coalition in detail", said the Democrats' leader.

PL leader Mihai Ghimpu said the Europeans recommended continuing the European course, fighting corruption and poverty. "The bottom line is that the ruling alliance meeting must be made up of PLDM, PDM and PL", said Ghimpu.

Representatives of the European People's Party, Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe and the European Socialists also attended the talks.
