Chisinau, 12 February /MOLDPRES/-Prime Minister Pavel Filip held a meeting with the representatives of the Moldovan Council of Nongovernmental Organisations today, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
In this context, Filip said he wanted a constructive, open and permanent dialogue with the civil society.
“I held talks with a part of the civil society yesterday, and today we continue these meetings. The government must feel the pressure of the civil society, which is like a watchdog. We are going to find the best mechanisms and formats for this dialogue,” Filip said.
In this context, Filip said the requests of the Civic Forum, messages of the Romanian and American governments as well as messages of EU bodies, were complying with the cabinet’s goals. “The association agreement is the foundation of our action programme. However, there are many arrears in this field. We decided to move faster in order to remove them. We also have other urgent matters, like solving the one-billion scam, stabilization of the financial-banking sector, justice and corruption sector reform,” Filip added.
For their part, representatives of the NGO Council welcomed the prime minister’s dialogue intiative, confirming their availability to delegate three persons to the National Participation Council. At the same time, they asked the government to solve certain problems they were facing, and namely, to amend the law on the two-per-cent tax in favour of NGOs and funding volunteering.
According to NGO representatives, there should be an institution to ensure the necessary framework for a permanent and efficient dialogue between the government and civil society.
Filip invited NGO representatives to share their views on governmental projects made public for debates, so that the opinions, experience and good practices of the civil society could be taken into account when the documents are finalized.
