Social services to be created for children with deviating behaviour in Moldova

Chisinau, 4 January /MOLDPRES/ - The decree on the promulgation and the law on measures and services meant for children with deviating behavior were published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.

Under the document, minors who committed a deed provided for in the criminal or contraventional law, but are not liable to criminal or contraventional responsibility, will benefit from assistance of psychologists, social assistants.

The measures meant for children with deviating behavior will be the specialized supervision, placement in guardianship service or family-type service, placement in the residential-type service or placement in the residential-type service with high specialization.

At the same time, a school group for preventive activities, made up of the school’s headmaster or deputy headmaster, class teacher, other teachers and school’s psychologist, will be set up at the education institution attended by the child with deviating behavior.
