Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Maia Sandu, at a cabinet meeting, has asked the civil servants and state institutions to prove maximum of responsibility in the organization and holding of the local elections due on 20 October. All those allowing the use of the administrative resource in the local polls will be toughly sanctioned, the prime minister said.
„Any attempt to infringe these rules, using the administrative resource in the electoral campaign, will be sanctioned quite toughly. I demand that the Interior Ministry, as well as other ministries, the citizens and media to report all infringements,” the prime minister noted.
„We must take care and prepare for the elections very well. I mean the state institutions and the civil servants which did not mind to use administrative resources to make their electoral campaign. This is like a school-leaving examination for us,” Maia Sandu said. She also said that “all financing in campaign should be legal and transparent. The electoral alms are illegal and all those involved must be sanctioned. We will not allow anybody to discredit the free and fair character of these elections.”
