Moldova, Azerbaijan to expand parliamentary cooperation

Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/- Moldova and Azerbaijan need to deepen and expand their cooperation on the parliamentary dimension, Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii said at a meeting with Ogtay Asadov, Head of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The speaker pointed out that Moldova promotes a balanced foreign policy, in the interest of the inhabitants of the Republic of Moldova. Greceanii opted for a pragmatic approach on all dimensions of collaboration. In this context, it was stressed the need to boost the economic exchanges and organize some business forums. She presented the favorable conditions that our country offers to investors.
The sides agreed on the need for greater cooperation on regional and international platforms, including GUAM.
The officials pointed out the high level of political dialogue established at the level of the Heads of State and agreed to boost cooperation at the level of parliamentary committees and friendship groups.
The meeting took place in the margins of the Forum of speakers from Eurasian countries, Greater Eurasia: Dialogue.Trust.Partnership, held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, on September 23-24.
Attending the event were deputy speakers Mihail Popșoi and Alexandru Slusari. Speakers from 65 countries in Europe and Asia and heads of 14 international and interparliamentary organisations participate in the forum.
