USA backs Moldovan government in ensuring energy security

Chisinau, 26 September /MOLDPRES/- The opportunities for cooperation and dialogue between the branch institutions in the energy field of the Republic of Moldova and the USA were addressed during yesterday's meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu and Secretary of Energy of the USA Rick Perry, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.

The two officials approached the priorities on the energy security agenda of the Republic of Moldova. They also addressed the possibilities for cooperation in the energy infrastructure and interconnection at regional level.

Rick Perry assured of continued support of the USA for providing our country with the technology and energy needed to prevent any disruption or power outages. "The USA supports Prime Minister Maia Sandu and Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu in their efforts to ensure energy security and in the European integration process," the US official said.
